Scale:

42 Bodhshalas in 3 districts of Rajasthan (Jaipur, Alwar, Tonk)

Implementation:

Bodh as an organization was founded with establishing one Bodhshala in an urban deprived slum of Jaipur city in the year 1987. The experience of running that Bodhshala was utilized to start more such community schools in different contexts that demonstrate high quality and provide academic support to the government schools of the neighbourhood.

Bodhshalas lie at the center of all the work that the organization is doing. The role of Bodhshalas to act as resource and demonstration schools has become more primary post-enactment of the Right to education act. In the time when the Right to equitable quality elementary education has been ensured to all the children, it’s important to demonstrate that ‘ it can be ensured and ‘the processes, beliefs and structures’ that make it a possibility. The efforts of the organization continue to be in the direction of further improving the quality being delivered by the schools and set higher goals for the same.
