Manas Ganga
Manas Ganga

For most of the girls from urban slums, whose roles and responsibilities have been defined through the ages, quality education is just a dream. These girls are often in dire need of spaces of freedom, expression, education, and growth.

Bodh, hence, established its first senior secondary school called ‘Manas Ganga Senior Secondary School for Girls’ in the year 2007, as a residential school. It is a formal school that has had large batches of students from pre-primary to grade 12 and had 350 students. The school is a girls’ school from grade 6 onwards and presently has humanities and science faculty from grade 11th onwards. From the next academic session, the school will have the science stream too. It is recognized by the Government of Rajasthan and caters to children from slums and villages around Jaipur.
Three batches of the residential school have already finished their grade 12, and all of them enrolled themselves in colleges for further education. Most of those who graduated are working and some of them are applying for government jobs. These girls have had a positive impact on the communities and now there are many more girls who have decided to study after grade 8. These bright minds may come from marginalised sections of the society but they, by no means, harbour small dreams.
The school also acts as a training centre and every year around 1500 government and 300 private educators visit to gain insights into its workings.
