Journey 2010 to Present

Post-2010 till present has been a very important phase in the journey of Bodh. The enactment of the Right to Education act 2010 gave a legal framework to a lot of issues that organizations like Bodh have been advocating for many years. Comprehensive curriculum, continuous assessment, strong community participation and the role of the state in ensuring equitable quality education against the human rights of each child (6-14 years) have been issues that Bodh has been working towards and truly believed in. In respect to this historical national shift, Bodh’s presence in the state, in the capacity of an organization that has a learning of working on education for years and hence can provide technical support at scale, got further strengthened.

The points below give a brief about the progress of work with respect to its different programmes-

Bodhshalas

  • Right to Education act 2009 endorsed many key principles and processes of teaching-learning and community participation that an organization like Bodh has been practicing and advocating for over 20 years.

Partnership with government

Bodh provided the academic support for the development of the conceptual framework and design of the reform and the programme was first implemented as a pilot and later scaled across the state in phases. This is the 8th year of the programme and the fourth, and the programme has been scaled to all schools with primary grades. the programme is going to being implemented across all schools of the state under the banner-State Initiative for Quality Education (SIQE) Programme.

  • Bodh supported the state in developing the curriculum and materials for bridging the learning gaps of 12 lakhs out of school children of Rajasthan.
  • Bodh supported the state of Rajasthan in the development of curriculum and materials for early childhood care and education (ECCE)
