1987 – 1993

The initial years of the organization were mainly spent in developing a comprehensive model of schooling and exploring if the model can be scaled in other communities too. So, by the year 1991, 7 Bodhshala ( common community schools) were created in 7 different slums of Jaipur city, supported by Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India. Bodh’s model of progressive and democratic schools, in a way, took shape during this phase. The programme reach was of around 2000 through a team of 70 teachers.
